Holy smokes, Nintendo is on a roll with these Nindie directs

nindies 2 titlehead

So many good titles were just announced, it’s madness.
A good amount of them are set to release.. Quite soon, too? I did not expect this much excitement.

Right off the bat we’re treated to an announcement a lot of people (myself included) were hoping for, and that is the news that “Hyper Light Drifter” is making it’s way onto Nintendo Switch on September 6th. That’s only a little over a week away. Nice!
It’s a special edition too, so there are some new bonuses, such as new weapons, etc.
You can even pre-purchase from the eshop today!

Now, I’m not going to go through every announcement, you can watch the actual direct for that. But here are some of my favourites:

Lightfingers is coming to Switch on September 20th. Looks to be a neat take on a traditional board-game, mixed with.. Well, video-game traits. Seems like it’ll be a fantastic multi-player experience, and man… Those graphics are seriously nice.

Towerfall, the hectic multiplayer arrow-fest, is coming to the system on September 27th (yeesh, September is packed).
This is something I’ve wanted to play for some time and simply haven’t gotten around to it, so having it release on Switch just gives me that excuse to pick it up.

Treasure Stack is a pixel puzzler, in the vein of Puyo-Puyo or Tetris, where you get to control cute little characters in order to move your blocks. This is the first I’ve heard of this game, so I’m not aware if it’s on other consoles or not, but it certainly has my interest peaked!
This one… unfortunately, wasn’t given a release date.

Mineko’s Night Market is a game I’ve followed the production of for a long, long time. The developers are fantastic people, and deserve all the attention I hope they get from this feature.
It’s a cute game about farming, running a store, and.. Cats. So many cats. It reminds me a bit of something like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon, though perhaps as a more controlled experience.
The game launches first on Nintendo Switch in early 2019!

Transistor, by SuperGiant games, the people behind the critically acclaimed Bastion (which also happens to be getting a Switch release) is officially confirmed to be coming November 1st. Eeeeeeep! I’m stoked for this. I’ve wanted to play this for a long time, and as with so many games these days, having it on Switch makes it so much more accessible for me. I can’t wait.

Into the breach is a game I have heard so many people asking for in the past few months. I’m sold on it purely on its reputation, I’ve just got to see what the deal is.
But I don’t expect to be let down, it’s by the creator or FTL (something I wanted a Switch release of, grr) which is an absolutely fantastic little thing.
The fun part about this one is that it’s out… Well, now. You can download it right away!

And those are my picks. There were quite a lot of announcements jammed into such a short direct, and certainly a lot more than I have listed here.
If you want to check out the full video, you can watch it here:

What do you think? Have they nailed it, or were you expecting more? Let me know!
