A load of new characters are coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ, with two available January 31st!

Dragon Ball FighterZ has been somewhat of a phenomenon in the fighting game scene. It’s difficult for a fighter to break into the eSports level these days, but FighterZ has gone against the odds and carved out its own comfy spot alongside some of the greats.

And deservedly so! I played it when it came to Switch last year, and it is a hell of a time. Super solid mechanics, with absurdly brilliant graphics. Its like playing the anime! Continue reading A load of new characters are coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ, with two available January 31st!

Feast your eyes on this gorgeous new Yokai Watch 4 footage

Level 5 have gone ahead and posted some direct-feed footage of the current demo being shown off for Yokai Watch 4 and holy hell, it’s looking so good.
Last time we saw the game, there were a couple technical issues which were quite apparent during gameplay, such as low frame-rate and some kinda funky animations.

All of that has now been sorted, it would seem! The frame-rate is buttery smooth, apart from when you use paws-of-fury, that’s uhm.. Still a bit of a disaster.
But otherwise its beautiful, and I sincerely cannot wait to get my hands on it. Continue reading Feast your eyes on this gorgeous new Yokai Watch 4 footage

Metroid Prime 4 is being rebooted, restarting development from the beginning

Well, of all the stories I could have anticipated to be writing today, this, most certainly, was not one of them.

Nintendo has released a development update video, issuing a formal apology to all their fans, stating that development on Prime 4 was not going in a direction they were fond of.
Shinya Takahashi, who is in charge of development at Nintendo seemed genuinely sorry, and stated that it was a pained decision, one they deliberated on for a long time but ultimately came to the decision that it had to be restarted. Nindies Direct highlights

Did y’all catch that Nindies Direct? No? Well, I can’t blame you if you didn’t. It came and went in a snap. Hell, they announced it was happening, and showcased it all within 24 hours!

Madness, right? Why not hype it up? Well as it turned out, it was only a 15 minute direct, and only boasted the bare minimum “highlight” points.

Not to say the highlights weren’t fantastic, but you can see why they didn’t want to hype things up too much. Continue reading Nindies Direct highlights

March 2019 games header.png

Having happily strode into 2019 now, we look to the future at what’s coming up. What’s the next big thing we get to play? And when? Well, turns out, a large chunk of what’s to look forward to is all releasing in March. However convenient that may or may not be is yet to be seen, but it’s certainly happening.

Have no fear though, I’m here to give you the run-down on what’s what, and when to rush into the nearest game store. (I know I will be with a couple of these). Continue reading March is a hell of a month for video-games

Lego Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit can no longer be bought digitally

I wouldn’t normally report on something like this, but I find this to be a particularly strange situation given the stature of these games.
No, its not like “The last of us” is no longer available to buy or anything, but these were competent games. Aimed primarily at a younger audience, sure, but they’re well made, and kids go mad for them. Continue reading Lego Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit can no longer be bought digitally

blizzard immortal disaster header

Blizzard just held their annual Blizzon, at which they made several announcements regarding updates to their games. A new Overwatch character, new cards for Hearthstone, you know the drill.
